Having a 21st birthday party at home, party food for a mixed crowd?
I’m turning 21 next Friday, having a birthday party the following weekend at my house for various good reasons.
I’ve never had a birthday party before or any party before for that matter.
But, I totally forgot about food (mainly was interested in the alcohol). I kinda figured we’d order pizzas, since everyone loves pizza and we can get different toppings for different tastes. But my brother in law suggested getting a crock pot for dipping things, and chips, and that’s all I can think of, really.
What’s good food for a 21-26 crowd, mostly guys with higher metabolisms/guys that eat a lot? I’ve got some meat eaters and some vegetarians coming, and then a few (very few) omnivores. Less expensive food is good.
Please help!

Give yourself a break and go to Albertsons’ web site – you can plug in your zip code to get the nearest store, then click on their assorted cheese, sandwich, dessert, vegetable/fruit, etc. trays to purchase online and pick up in person. I am seriously considering doing this for our wedding reception (which will be more like a party- I want fun and relaxed, not snooty). The prices aren’t bad!
